The Unknown Author

As Humans we are forever leaving our mark upon the environment that we inhabit.

Sometimes these marks are very deliberate like tagging and graffiti, whereas other times they are a complete accident. This series explores the different traces that are left behind and asks the viewer to think about the many different possibilities of how it came to arrive there.

Some people may find it hard to understand why there are two small hand prints within the concrete. Was it a deliberate act to destroy the ‘perfect’ urban environment that we built ourselves or was it just an attempt of injecting some personality into the identical streets of Cambridge. The hand prints may have also got there by accident after a small child fell into the wet concrete.

Throughout the exhibition you will have the chance to add your own thoughts and stories to my photographs through the use of the postcards provided.

I hope that after viewing my work others will start to see the small things that often go missed.
